Executive DirectorNational School Plant Management Association (NSPMA)Ken Wertz brings more than 30 years of hands-on and leadership experience in school facilities managment to every stage he steps on. As Executive Director of the National School Plant Management Assoc. (NSPMA), he leads a national non-profit advancing professionalism, education, and advocacy for public K12 school facilities leaders across the country.
At the heart of Ken's work is a passion for equity and the belief that every teacher and student deserves a safe, healthy learning environment, regardless of their zipcode. In addition to supporting all the NSPMA member nationwide, He works alongside several national partners including the BASIC Coalition, USGBC, GoGreen Initiative, ZeroNow, CAUSE, HEAL, NSCI , NCSF and others to advance healthier, safer, and more sustainable schools.
Ken's career spans the full arc of the profession, from licensed plumber and builder, former school facilities director (18yrs.), served on Mass School Building Authority's Designer Selection Panel (5yrs.) and longtime association leader, Ken brings a practicioner's perspective to his work. A nationally recognized speaker, he has delivered hundreds of presentations focused on helping communities create better places for students and teachers to learn and work.
