LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS
SHAPE OUTCOMES
EDspaces exists to help people who design, plan and equip learning environments make better decisions—in service of every learner.
What EDspaces Is
A Community Focused On Better Decisions
EDspaces is where education leaders and their partners come together to explore how physical environments impact learning.
From classrooms to campuses, it brings together school and district leaders, higher education planners, architects, designers, dealers, facilities teams, and industry experts to evaluate what’s working – and what’s next.
This isn’t just about ideas. It’s about seeing solutions in context, understanding how they perform, and applying them in real environments.
Why it Exists
Why Learning Environments Matter
The spaces where learning happens are not passive. They influence how learners focus, how educators teach, and how institutions perform.
Yet too often, decisions about these environments are made without the opportunity to see, test, or fully understand, what’s possible.
EDspaces exists to close that gap—connecting insight with real-world application so better decisions can be made.
A Framework for Designing for the Learner
Environments Should Support the Full Experience of Learning
Every space influences how learners feel, function, and succeed.
We explore this through six key outcomes:
Comfort
Spaces that support physical wellbeing
Movement
Environments that allow flexibility and mobility
Physiology
Air, light, acoustics and conditions that impact health
Cognition
Design that supports focus, thinking, and learning.
Connection
Spaces that foster interaction and collaboration.
Belonging
Environments where every learner feels seen and supported
