Rick Young, AIA, is an architect and Associate Principal with Perkins&Will. He is an active member of Illinois ASBO PDC Planning & Construction committee. Rick joined Perkins&Will in 2006, and his experience spans the education spectrum from Pre-K and elementary through high school and higher education. His joy and passion stems from working directly with teachers, students, administrators and communities to develop a collective vision and creating inspiring environments that reflect the communities they serve.

Learner Engagement:The session will use an interactive case study presentation to share how engagement strategies and content were tailored to meet the needs and interests of the various groups engaged during the master plan and post-referendum election design phases. Via active learning techniques, we will engage the audience to reflect on their own experiences encouraging mutual sharing of ideas.
