Kyle Gorrell
Director of FacilitiesLee's Summit R-7 School DistrictKyle Gorrell oversees a department of 220 staff responsible for construction, maintenance, and custodial services for Lee’s Summit School District, which includes approximately 3.8 million square feet of educational space in a growing suburban community. He leads the district utilizing a Comprehensive Facility Master Plan to provide equitable access to future-ready learning environments for all students.
Kyle has a bachelor’s degree in architecture and has a passion for finding ways for the built environment to support curriculum and instruction. His professional involvement as a founding Board member and past president for the Kansas City chapter of the Association for Learning Environments, A4LE, helps support the District’s mission to provide the highest-quality learning environments. In addition, Gorrell is currently on the Board and was a three-term past president for the Missouri School Plant Manager’s Association, MSPMA. This organization supports facilities personnel across the state through professional networking, a certification program, and on-going training opportunities.
