Every Space in a Preschool Classroom Can Have Purpose
Presented by: Constructive Playthings

Goal:

To demonstrate how thoughtful classroom design can transform a preschool environment into a collection of purposeful learning spaces that support the whole child. Our classroom brings together welcoming, engaging and developmentally appropriate centers that encourage children to explore, create, connect, regulate and learn throughout their day.

Focus:

Our experiential classroom focuses on the intentional design of key preschool learning centers, including Welcoming Space, STEM, Creative Arts & Language, Dramatic Play, Circle Time & Naptime, Sensory, and Outdoor Learning. Each area demonstrates how the right combination of furnishings, materials and layout can support specific learning experiences while creating a cohesive, functional classroom for educators and children.

Impact

Thoughtfully designed environments can do more than organize a classroom—they can become an active part of the learning experience. Intentional spaces help encourage independence, creativity, collaboration, communication, self-regulation, physical development and a sense of belonging. Our goal is for attendees to experience these spaces firsthand and leave with practical ideas they can apply when creating engaging early childhood environments of their own.
