
Kait Whitaker
Elementary PrincipalTrails West Elementary, Cherry Creek School DistrictKait Whitaker is a dedicated educator and school leader with over 21 years of experience serving students across the Denver metro area. Her career spans a wide range of roles and diverse student populations, including classroom teaching in Kindergarten, 1st, and 5th grades, as well as instructional coaching with a focus on supporting multilingual learners.
For the past 14 years, Kait has served in school leadership, including five years as an assistant principal and nine years as a principal. She currently leads Trails West Elementary School, where she has spent the last five years fostering a positive, student-centered culture grounded in high expectations and strong relationships. Under her leadership, the school has been recognized by the state for outstanding academic growth.
Kait is especially passionate about the role of intentional classroom design in improving student outcomes. She has led schoolwide efforts to rethink and redesign learning environments to better align with instructional goals, student needs, and engagement strategies. By guiding her staff in using classroom design as a tool for targeted instruction, Kait has helped create spaces that actively support collaboration, differentiation, and academic growth. Her work highlights how thoughtfully designed environments can serve as a catalyst for both teaching excellence and student success.
